How to Use Our Bookmarks

Description

Our bookmark downloads include four designs to a page. They are sized to print on 8.5 x 11 paper (letter size). Each bookmark is 2 inches (width) by 6 inches (height). The bookmarks are in PDF format.

Required Software

We recommend using Adobe Reader for opening and printing the bookmarks. Other PDF programs may not display the designs correctly.

Printing Tips

• Make sure you print at full size so the bookmarks will be printed at the correct size (2x6). The setting for this will be in your printer settings. The wording for the setting will vary depending on the software you use. It may be something like "Actual Size" or "Scale" (set this to 100% if you see this option).
• We recommend printing on card stock for durability.

Laminating the Bookmarks

Laminating the bookmarks will make them more durable. There are laminating pouches sized for 2x6 bookmarks. They are sized slighly larger than 2x6 to allow space for the bookmark. Place the bookmark in the pouch and run it through a laminator. The machine will use heat to seal the pouch. Consult the manual for your laminator for the specific instructions to use for your device.

Laminators may be purchased for as little as $20 to $30. The pouches are also reasonably priced (e.g., 200 pouches for around $20 at the time this was written). This makes it easy and cheap to create bookmarks for a whole class.

Adding a Tassel

Use a hole punch to create a hole at the top of the bookmarks and add a tassel. Tassels are available at reasonable prices (100 tassles for under $10).
